Island Women Against Violence (IWAV)

IWAV is a non-profit society dedicated to supporting women and their children throughout the Southern Gulf Islands whose lives have been affected by violence and abuse.

Federal Government Agency which promotes gender equality and the full participation of women in the economic, social, cultural and political life of the country.

Canadian Women’s Foundation
CWF helps women in Canada to move out of violence by funding emergency shelters, support programs, and effective follow-up programs. They also invest in school-based violence-prevention programs, where girls and boys learn how to stop the violence — for good.

DAISSI (Diversity and Inclusion Salt Spring Island)
DAISSI is a non-profit society for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning people with Allies on Salt Spring Island.

The Girls Action Foundation
This national organization supports the empowerment, healthy development and leadership of girls and young women across Canada. Their site is full of resources for youth and leaders of all-girls programs.

A not for profit organization that reduces violence in the lives of youth and in our communities by building a team of youth who communicate the message of non-violence.

The Safe Online Outreach Society
SOLOS’s purpose is to educate the public about exploitation on the internet by doing research, creating materials and delivering presentations and workshops that will train youth, professionals and parents on how to recognize and respond to online sexual exploitation and assist children and youth affected by this issue.
